Sachin’s milestone gone unnoticed
Another ton up for the Indian maestro, but it has gone unnoticed. The tri-series september 2009 in Sri Lanka was Sachin Tendulkar's 100th ODI series. But he is not the first to achieve this feat. Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jaysuriya has played 108 ODI series.
The Sri Lankan master blaster also holds the record of most ODI appereances. Both Sachin and Sanath -- Mumbai Indians teammates -- began their ODI career in 1989.There are 38 players who have played 50 or more ODI series and as always, Asian players are in top 10. India’s Anil Kumble and Sourav Ganguly have played 75 series each while Rahul Dravid is up there with 81 series. Wasim Akram of Pakistan has played 93 ODI series followed by his former teammate Inzamam-ul Haq with 92 series.West Indian Brian Lara (66 series) and New Zealander Stephen Fleming (66) are the only others figures in the list of top 20.
